Dear Parents/ Guardians,

 

 

RE: ANNUAL VOLUNTARY CONTRIBUTION

 

  

At the beginning of every new academic year I have asked you for a voluntary contribution. As you may be aware, this has funded visiting theatre groups and history days, various day activities and games, experienced and skilled visitors and other activities. These extra curricular events enhance the children’s learning through hands-on experiences (workshops) and multi-sensory activities which address every child’s learning style. These activities would not be possible without your kind consideration and support.

 

 

Other activities that this fund pays for, are resources children need for design and technology (cooking, sewing, model construction etc) and transportation for local trips (joint activities with other local schools). Every child in our school benefits from your annual contribution and whilst I appreciate that the current financial climate is difficult, I really would appreciate your help.

 

 

This academic year, I ask if you would consider making a one off donation at the beginning of the academic year, or termly, or to set up a standing order for a regular monthly donation from September 2009 to July 2010. Obviously, we are unable to make a direct charge. Last year I suggested £50. In previous years, donations have ranged from £5 per month and from £20 to £100 for the year. Any donation you are willing to give will be much appreciated.

 

 

If you are also a tax payer, we would grateful if you could complete a Gift Aid form as it would enable us to reclaim tax on the donated sum from the Inland Revenue. Last year we were able to claim back another £1000 from the Inland Revenue to provide extras for our children. Parents and Guardians with more than one child attending our school should not feel obliged to make a contribution relative to the number of their children. If you have signed a Gift Aid form in previous years, you do not need to fill in and sign another.
